Spending today doing nothing and resting. Yay. So I thought I'd do thefridayfive:



1. What is the one outfit/piece of clothing/accessory you own that makes you feel incredibly good whenever you wear it? Why?

I'm with jessybxx on this one - gotta be my New Rocks. Add in a corset, a long, slinky black skirt and a sweeping black overcoat and boom, I'm walking a mile high. I feel...sexy and kind of dangerous. But Boots Of Doom just pick me up whatever I wear them with, be it jeans or cargo pants or - whatever. They're just brilliant, the weight and the glitter and the sheer balls-out METAL of them.

2. What do you do to make yourself feel better when you're in a funk?

I try and write. Or talk to people; my initial urge when I'm in a funk is to curl up and ignore the world, and that's a bad thing. I just feel worse. So to try and shake myself out of it I try to connect with someone. If I can write with that someone - or they're someone that really gets my creative mind working hard - so much the better.

As you might imagine, arrys_girlie and silicondreams are particularly good at this. So is rockfic.

3. Has anyone ever surprised you in a way that let you know you were special? How?

arrys_girlie's new pirate epic. *Loves* Being her beta kicks ass. rdyfrde asking me to beta for her and saying such nice things. Being silcondreams's beta. Working on navigatorsghost's fic. I don't always rate what I do, and that these four people like what I do enough to trust me with their work is concrete evidence, to me, that perhaps I don't suck after all. Means a lot to me.

navigatorsghost, on her visit the other week, telling me she admired me. Made me all hot and shy.

jessybxx mentioning in an lj comment that I was one of her role models. Bloody hell.

The welcome I got from adrenalized and the gang last week. *Hugs*

4. When you are having a "good day," how do you spread the happiness to others?

I try and use that energy to write, or go talk to people. I figure as hearing good stuff from my friends cheers me up, maybe the same will apply in reverse; or I try and goof off to make them laugh if they're down.

Course, that last has been known to backfire on me. A time or two. *Snort*

5. What is one thing that puts you in a bad mood, no matter how good you were previously feeling?

Being put down by someone, usually my dear sainted mother. Or my sister. Or anyone, really. Unfortunately, I have an ego that responds very very badly to disapproval from the people I love - pats on the head make my day, but harsh words just about kill me.

I'm working on it, though.



Hmm. That was interesting. Might have to try and do those more often!
