*Puts kettle on*
2006 strikes at me one last time. Well, not me, exactly. My sister called me about forty minutes ago, and you just know one in the morning phone calls are going to tell you nothing good.
Her husband has just told her that he doesn't want to be with her any more.
So he stormed off, she locked him out and rang me up in floods of tears because she didn't want to wake our mum up. She's panicking about how she's going to afford to keep the house, how she's going to manage mortgage payments and whatnot - I just made soothing noises. That's what I'm here for, right?
I adore my nieces. I just hope this doesn't screw them up too badly.
Interestingly, he's just texted me. He doesn't know if he's done the right thing, or whatever.
I could have really done without this just as I'm about to leave the country. What if she needs help while I'm sitting up in the frozen blasted north with no way of getting back?
