Hmmm, nice lazy day...
Aug. 27th, 2005 08:15 pmAnd so, of course, I'm bored. Pretty unique experience, actually, so I'm enjoying it while I can. Mind you, most of the enjoyment is derived from knowing that, as of tomorrow, I'm going to be dashing about like the proverbial blue arsed fly.
Going to the muster for the day; dropping the hound off in kennels (a stint away from home will do him good), then off to Cheriton. Slay might get a chance to go on the field as part of a gun crew, so that'll make him happy. Me, I intend to mooch around the campsite, traders row, chat to the regiment, all that sort of stuff. Get a feel for it again. See if I want to spend time and money picking it all up again.
arrys_girlie has just sent me an e-mail; she was delayed in Baltimore which meant she missed her connecting flight so she won't be here until tomorrow. *Cries*
Still, maybe I can run down and see her on Monday. Tuesday is the ten-hour shift from Hell, wednesday I'm getting my hair done, thursday Slay and I are heading down to town to stay in a hotel with other Maiden bods ready for the gig on friday...
Tuesday is bothering me, though. Quite apart from the fact that my corsets haven't arrived yet (*screams with frustration*), it's going to be a bloody awful day at work. Why? Well, the tuesday after a bank holiday is always very, very busy - most people only notice their animals are sick on a weekend and don't want to pay out of hours fees, so they wait 'till we're open normally.
And due to rota cockups, nurses leaving and a case of cowpox (I kid you not), that means that there are three vets on...
...and three nurses.
As opposed to eight.
Must enjoy the weekend, because it's all going to end in tears come tuesday!
