Twenty Random Facts About Me You May Not Already Know!
1 - I was born in Singapore, Changi. That's what you get for being a Forces brat, I guess...
2 - It always surprises me when people think I'm remarkable or clever, because in my head I'm boring, ugly, stupid and useless. I know, I'm working on it. But it's true nevertheless. I try not to let it bother me.
3 - I never had a nickname in school, except for my first primary school where my best friend called me Piggy.
4 - I was an engineering apprentice when I first left school, working on aircraft. Avionics radio/radar, to be precise. I wasn't very good at it, but I do miss being around aircraft.
5 - I have done a solo in a powered glider.
6 - I achieved the rank of Sergeant in the Air Cadets at school. It was the first time I'd ever been recognised for something I'd done and worked hard for. I loved it.
7 - On that topic, I nearly joined the Royal Air Force myself, but decided not to when the schools Liaison Officer asked me what I wanted to do in the RAF - and when I said 'Fly' he sneered and told me that there would always be enough men to do that job. It broke my heart.
8 - I'm scared of heights. But I love to fly - I actually think it's falling that I'm afraid of.
9 - I have had suicidal urges and feelings for as long as I can remember. A happy child I was not.
10 - Amphetamines give me a headache, but do fuck all else.
11 - I have an addictive personality.
12 - Had I been a child today, I would have probably have been diagnosed as autistic rather than simply weird...
13 - I only learned to drive when I was 27. I was terrified of it when I tried it at 17 and avoided learning for as long as possible. Now I'm very glad I did!
14 - I loathe peanut butter. I mean, it gives me the heaves if I so much as smell the stuff!
15 - I ran a coffee shop in a garden centre for two years. I actually quite enjoyed it.
16 - I am a very bad liar!
17 - I am a coward.
18 - The first single I ever bought was Queen's 'One Vision'.
19 - I can paint, draw, sculpt, sing, and lots of other hoopy stuff - but I can't stick at anything long enough to get really good at it.
20 - I gave up drinking alcohol for six months when I woke up one morning craving a beer. That was in my mid twenties, and I've never gone back to heavy drinking - to the point where I'm a real lightweight these days!
*Phew* That was hard!
