At last...

Pepsi is going to White Lodge this afternoon. Slay wants to come with me, so he's finishing work early. It's cool. He can drive.
I'm going to miss her. Pepsi is a wonderful girl; she's a typical greyhound, laid back, relaxed, wants nothing more out of life than a comfy sofa, a full food bowl and the occasional mooch around the block. If only she didn't hate cats so much...
I owe Claire big time. Must think of something nice I can do for her - maybe do some fundraising around here, perhaps? Home one of her dogs - once the residents have had time to get over this trauma! Me not least of all. I miss having a greyhound so much... but it seems that every one I encounter recently just isn't suitable. I guess my perfect hound is out there somewhere.
I'm wobbly with relief. I really am.

Date: 2005-07-11 05:16 pm (UTC)When I was in Lancaster, Elliott dragged me along to ride an Amish buggy [I have serious issues about treating people as tourist attractions, but that's a long, convoluted side story], and the driver, a fellow by the name of Jesse, said the horse, Beckie, was an old racehorse. I asked if they'd had any problems with her, and he said she was actually the best behaved horse. Very friendly and sweet. She was, too. She let me get near and pet her neck. :)
