Today has not been great.
Zico went down a storm at Download.
Maiden tonight.
I am not there.
Because of my bloody stupid principles.
*Mutters irritably*
And. AND!!!
Doris soaking in her bowl? Not just for cuteness. To soothe the itchies.
To whit:
MITES.
In the seven years I have been keeping snakes I have never had a mite infestation. But then, I was never around anyone else's snakes, either; it was, therefore, going to happen eventually.
But! My snakes! My babies! Parasitised!!!
Thus. Everything has been washed, cleaned, disinfected, baked, boiled or soaked, and the snakes have been given a dose of Frontline. (Bloody marvellous stuff, it is.) Good job it was a quiet night last night and I got some sleep, because I've been viv-cleaning for a solid four hours now. I am not best pleased.
I also had a bloody good cry when I realised what it was; I've always associated mites with unclean conditions, animals that are not looked after properly - so to see my beloved Doris with the little horrors scampering around her head upset me greatly.
Sam thought it would be a jolly wheeze to strike at my head. I witheld the urge to throttle him, doesed him up and put him back; Mojo was much nicer about the whole business, so hopefully I now have three mite-free, comfortable snakes.
And in about three days, I get to do the whole lot again. (To make sure any mites that have hatched since this clean get killed, y'see.)
Joy.
So if you'll excuse me, I'm going to have a spot of lunch, and then go to bed for a bloody good sulk.
PS: Watching the snippet on NME.com with Chris (Zico's frontman, pay attention, do!) he said that Paul their guitarist was 'about six foot eight...' - so no bloody wonder he reminds me of Sascha.
