Just downloaded Last.FM and Foobar. Am currently putzing around with both, trying to figure out how to make them work - and having rather a lot of fun. It would help if they both had an 'idiot' button that said 'not a geek? OK, you do it like this...'

I'll figure it out. I rather like foobar already.

Yes because I can't tell you which steps to follow in order to get it set. I use both Winamp and WMP at work and at home.

Though if you got it to work, then it doesn't matter :)

Last.fm tracks what you listen to and compiles the information into charts. For example:

I downloaded and installed Foobar, and then uninstalled it three minutes later. If I don't have a program mastered in three minutes, I don't think I can get on with it. :)

I haven't tried Last.FM, mainly because I don't listen to music on my computer (crappy speakers!), but on the boom box instead.

I used to have LastFM, but it was the most pointless thing I had ever signed up for and I ended up cancelling it a few weeks after signing up.

Hopefully you'll get more use out of yours than I did out of mine.
