Dog! Argh!

Two weeks ago Axl ripped his foot open. God knows what on, I haven't found anything sharp in the grass so...whatever. The wound was stitched and was healing OK, and of course he decided to belt round the garden for sheer joy at having the bucket off his head, and tore the end of it open again.
Result, if I can keep him quiet for a few more days it might just heal again.
He doesn't want to be quiet. He's bored. I get that. But he has this whinge that he makes down his nose that sounds really horrible - between off key pan pipes and a squeaky gate.
He's been doing it all day. He smashed a mug earlier, mooching round the living room, got put back in the slammer (AKA his indoor kennel) while I cleaned up...whinge whinge whinge.
I know you're bored, dog. I know. I try and play games with you and do interesting things with your food but...,
All he wants to do is run. It's what Axl loves to do. Run and run and run. Nothing else comes close. Run till he's knackered then come home and annoy the cat.
But right now he can't run and so it's whinge-down-the-nose time. I want to throttle him - I know it's not his fault, but it's a noise that scrapes across your nerve endings until you want to scream.
I am seriously not in the mood for this crap.
Anyone want a lurcher, slightly banged up?

How long does His Annoyingness have until he can stop being bored?
