Ah, marvellous. I appear to have come down with a cold. Oh well, that's what you get for monkeying around with your circadian rhythms and eating bad food and not getting enough rest and vitamins and stuff. My eyeballs feel like red hot curried marbles, I have a headache, and my sinuses are full of hot lead.
This happens to me a lot.
Oh well.
What song can't you get enough of right now? Um. That would probably be 'Accident Of Birth' by Bruce Dickinson. A remarkably angry little tune.
First concert? That would be Motorhead in Oxford in '85. I was scared shitless - but wanted to be brave enough to go down the front where everybody seemed to be having a really, really good time...
Last Concert? That would have been Bowling For Soup, earlier this month. They were remarkably good.
First cd/tape/record? That would have been the single One Vision, by Queen.
Favorite group/artist of all time? Dayum, difficult question. I mean, it does and has changed, over the years - but I guess right now, it would be Iron Maiden.
Favorite person out of this group/or the artist? Oh noooooo. I love 'em all... I mean, there's Bruce, who is one heck of a frontman, looks sexy in a pilot's uniform and is just a nice bloke. Harry, who I would sell my soul to pounce (just once, if any deities are listening), and damn if he isn't the most talented bassist ever. (IMHO) But then there's Nicko... one of life's Good Guys. Er. Good question...
Have you met any famous rockers? Yeah.
If yes, who?All of Leppard and Bruce and Nicko from Maiden. Plus a whole slew of others when we did the Bremen trip. (Including getting propositioned by the Moody Blues' drummer.)
Were they nice or were they assholes? Nicko is a total darling. Bruce was very sweet. Phil, Viv and Rick are nice. Joe has a bit of an ego thing going on and Sav... eh. He doesn't really like hanging with fans these days, I guess. Chris De Burgh is a horrid little troll who definitely likes the ladies, and was a bit irritated that we sat and ignored him in the bar at Bremen. Most of them are OK but you get the odd asshole who believes their own publicity. I find being a Dreadful Old Tart helps - they either slip away politely or respond well to it...
Post your favorite lyric from your favorite song (at the moment or above all):
Feel our bodies breathing as you try to stop believing
There's nothing you can do about your shadows
You can fight us, you are like us
And your body will betray you
Lay down and die like all the others...
Course, that last might be different tomorrow...
In other news, lots of fireworks going off tonight - in point of fact, it sounded rather like downtown Baghdad out there tonight. So of course Axl is hiding next to Slay, won't eat, big scared eyes, won't go outside. I actually wish Slay wouldn't indulge him - I know it sounds mean but it just reinforces the nervous behaviour. If he would ignore him then he wouldn't be getting a response and if nothing else it wouldn't get any worse.
Hey ho.
Off to take some cold meds.
