It's hot.

Why is it hot?

This is England. We have foul weather. We're an island. Wet summers and miserable winters, yes? So much fog it's amazing the whole country doesn't rust shut.

It's hot and it's humid and I, oh yes I had the great idea to go work in a shop where the walls are lined with glass tanks with heat mats at the back of them. And even heat lights.

*Stifles*

The animals are loving it. I'm sweating a lot. I keep spraying myself with cold water and standing in front of the fans, which means by the end of the day I look like a badly made haystack. Sexay.

The giant rats have failed to savage me again today, although it's not for lack of trying; every time I have to squeeze past their cage to go to the loo the male is smashed up against the bars, trying to reach me and biting the bars in his frustration when he fails. That animal really hates me....

I also had another total failure to resist, and have now added a pair of blotched king snakes (Lampropeltis getula goini) to my collection. *Ahem* Well, they were the first king snakes I'd ever handled that didn't automatically crap all over me, and they're awfully pretty.

Honest.

So I have to sneak those into the house when Slay isn't looking. I suspect the best time will be when he leaves to fly to New Zealand on business, HAR HAR HAR!

It's still too hot.

Oh yes! And I think Bandita is gravid (that is, carrying eggs). She's looking heavy toward the back end and refused her mouse last night, which is *very* unlike her. She and Zico are utter pigs. Although speaking of bull snakes, I am in *so* much trouble (again): the male albino bull escaped last night and is still AWOL somewhere in the house. :( Boy did I get a bollocking when I 'fessed up. He'll turn up.

I hope.

Because the container is going on friday (WHOOPEE!) which, whilst awesome, does mean the house is full of a gazillion boxes of utter crap. I keep sneaking boxes out to the garden and burning them before Slay asks what's in them, but he's usually quicker than I am. I keep working on it.

However, this means that bloody Bandit has even more places to hide than usual, so hopefully he'll get bored and come out before winter arrives... *sigh*

OK, time to flop on the sofa and enjoy the peace until Slay comes home and turns the TV on. Bleargh.

It's too hot!
