So! As all the pics I got at the show were cruddy, here are the ones I managed to grab beforehand.

Poor Kai - just woken up and gets pounced! He was very sweet, though.

Henjo snuggles. God I love that man....

Yes, it was insanely windy down the side of the venue!

*Heeheehee*
Oh, and here are the two pics that Fred found which show Yours Truly in full Barrier Rat mode:

I was very naughty yesterday. I popped into the local aquatics shop and Sarah - who runs the tropical part of it - saw me and yelled "I've been trying to get hold of you!"
Uh oh....
Y'all know I'm a sucker for turtles, right? Anyway. She'd managed to get hold of some musk turtles, which don't show up on wholesaler's lists very often. A couple of commons (no male, dammit!)... three loggerhead musks (Sternotherus minor minor), and three razorback musks (Sternotherus carinata).
I was good. Ish. In that I didn't buy all of them... only two of the loggerheads....
Well, could you resist a face like this?

They look like this - yep, they're very very small indeed:

And just for shits and giggles, here is a picture of a baby common musk turtle (Sternotherus oderatus), also known as a stinkpot:

That picture so needs macro-ing.
So anyway. I think the loggerheads are both girls - anyone know where I can get a couple of male musk turtles...?
