Set fire to the cooker tonight.
I knew the grease and yuk under the rings was building up, but it took the gentle *whoomph* of crud igniting under the frying pan to get my ass into gear. I stayed calm, turned the ring off (god I hate electric cookers), damped a tea towel, chucked that over the ring.
Without letting go of the frying pan or dropping the sausages. So I did all the damage control with my left hand... pretty impressive, nu?
Slay was impressed, but considering the last time I did it I almost had to call the fire brigade I think he was just pleased that there were no hysterics this time. And he got his dinner in time.
By the time he'd responded to my call of "cooker's on fire, love," it was out and I was merrily finishing the sausages off. He did open the back door to let all the smoke out, though.
Good job the smoke alarm is fucked or it would have seriously disturbed his evening. ;)
In other news, Spike has spent all day hanging around the garden but hasn't come in. Yesterday he slept through until 3pm, then came and said thanks, had a fuss and a cuddle, and off he went. Still very much not neutered, I notice....
As for Biffno, I think I'm going to give up. I hate what I'm doing, I think it's dull, lifeless, and very much unengaging. Plus I'm feeling that I might have pushed
rdyfrde too hard - guilt is a marvellous demotivator. So maybe next year.
