mad_andyYou know, several things have just occurred to me.
The first concerns Dirk. Yes, he of the Manly Chest and the object of many of my Unfulfilled Desires!

Stop that. It occurred to me that Dirk's hair is naturally wavy, and in this picture it's dead straight. So he must straighten it.
And for some reason the mental image of Dirk sitting backstage buggering about with a set of hair straighteners and indeed, generally poncing around with hair products didn't half make me grin.
I wonder if he does it to annoy Kai?
KH: "Will you stop messing about with your hair? We're on in five minutes--"
DS: "Ha, you're just jealous because I've got hair!"
*KH storms off in a tremendous sulk while HR and DZ giggle like stoners*
The next one is a little more serious.
When I got home today I was tired, and so frustrated I just wanted to cry. Never mind the fact that the boss is in a pissy mood (and therefore being a bit free with comments both misogynistic and homophobic), or that Dave the Other Apprentice has been kissing arse and is thus very much in favour, or that Nurse is about as much fun to deal with as any other teenager in love - no, never mind all that.
Some friends of Slay's brother came by the studio to have a look for some designs so I could work on them. Very keen, but the designs that they chose were not cheap ones (a £300 koi and a £200 dragon!!!) - so of course the 'apprentice rate' for them was correspondingly high. They therefore left without booking anything - with the rider that they may be able to come back in January....
So I get home, pissed off, fed up etc etc. Feels like the boss can't make up his fucking mind - does he want me working or not? If so, he should start asking a few of his fucking clients if I can work on them - or get Jon to do it, because of course he takes his cues from Chris--
Then I grabbed myself by the back of the neck and said to myself, hang on a minute.
At the beginning of December you will have been in this gig for three months.
Several people today have seen my sketchbooks and asked how many years I've been doing this.
Three months.
So...
Yeah. I need to give it a few more months before I start really tearing my hair out, right?
Right.
Oh, and a comment on my MySpace page:

I sent her the links to Rockfic, Rockfic Press, the studio - and gave her the hourly rate for custom work.
