I went and visited the boss' field the other day. It's heaven... the sort of place I always dreamed of having. And will do, one day.

First up? This is Roast. He is the first bird Chris ever hatched out, spent his formative weeks in their living room beside the TV under a heat lamp - and as a consequence, is ridiculously tame. He is, I might add, flirting with me in this picture.

When he stands like this, his head is level with my waist. He is a BIG bird!

I look horrible, but the little cutie sitting on my hand is Oli the Owl - so named by Chris' mum. He's dog tame and gods, is he gorgeous....

Photobucket

Pretty, pretty!

And finally, for the moment, you remember the goose I bought off ebay as an egg, hatched out and raised for Christmas? That Chris got ridiculously attached to, and swapped me another goose for it?

This is Edward - now known as Edwina, as she has been seen being matede by the gander and has been laying eggs! Isn't she lovely?

Dude. There is no way that Turkey is that big. I flat out fucking refuse to believe it.

No way

Also, I think I have a crush on that gorgeous owl...

I adore the owl!

Eee, birds! ♥ And you're not wearing a gauntlet in that second one, are you? He's sitting straight on your fingers... that is so awesome. O_O I would so love to get to hold a bird of prey.

And also, now I *know* I haven't seen you in too long, because I'm pretty sure the last time I saw you, your hair was a different colour! *grin* Can I convince you over to Cambridge sometime? :)

I so have to get my lazy ass to Cambridge - but you have to come up here too, so I can take you to visit all those wonderful birds!

Fabulous!! I love Roast. He's not going to be....you know....is he?

Oh no! No, Chris is very attached to him - he and his girlfriend Cheepy are pets as much as anything. Their offspring will definitely end up on the table, but this boy is going to live out a long life, free range, enjoying the sunshine and surrounded by a dedicated harem.

Good, huh?

(I love him to bits. You gotta love a bird that big that spends almost two hours trying to seduce you with his wattles and his stomp...!)

The first thing I thought when I saw that monster dressed as a turkey was Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs trying to harvest sperm from him. lol The owl is gorgeous, and the goose quite pretty as well, and it's good to see you looking relaxed and with a far different mood in your eye than had been there for so long.
