Flyby!

Ultra quick update:

Ryanair suck. I didn't get home until three this morning. Delayed, delayed, delayed.

People who take small children on planes suck. (Especially small children who stand near me chanting two words over and again in some kind of obsessive compulsive brain fart.)

If your cat should catch a baby rabbit straight out of the stop, LET IT FINISH THE JOB. By 'rescuing' it you are subjecting the rabbit (and those unfortunate enough to try and save the wretched thing) to a lot of stress.

Ten hour shifts suck.

Ten hour shifts two days running suck.

Husbands who go away for ten days on business trips are pretty cool. (YAYNOSLAY!) (From Sunday, huzzah!)

Dirk's knee brace is Teh Hawt. Thank you [livejournal.com profile] rdyfrde for feeding the addiction!

And now I should do some work.

I still can't figure it out but I'm glad it makes you happy ;)

[identity profile] madandy.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
You can't figure it out?

Me either.

[identity profile] screwthedaisies.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait. Where's the knee brace? I missed a knee brace?

[identity profile] rdyfrde.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep. He messed up his knee in 2002 and wore the brace until late 2003. You can see it clearly in the first photos on this page:

That's hot. When I get around to writing GR fic, I know in what time frame it's going to occur now.

That's hot.

[identity profile] rdyfrde.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
But why is it hot? I'm so confused.

[identity profile] screwthedaisies.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I have no idea. It definitely has the same attraction that writing a long, angsty fic starring a one-legged Commodore Norrington had for me. (I need to finish that thing someday.) And it has the same attraction that writing a science fiction story where the Metallica guys had all sorts of scary body-modification surgeries (James Hetfield ended up with bionic arms and legs for instance) had for me. (This is another story I need to finish...someday.)

I don't know why injuries and casts and braces and amputations are hot. They just...make really great fic fodder.

[identity profile] madandy.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Screw fic fodder, I wanna do really dirty things to him when he wears that brace.

Dirtier things than I would do to him without it, I mean.

So, really dirty things...really very dirty things indeed. *Drool*

[identity profile] screwthedaisies.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
(Here we go down a dirty path...don't you wish you could lock the brace in a straight-leg or bent-leg position....)

[identity profile] madandy.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh jesus yeah. And all the hurt/comfort possibilities - helping him put it on (or watching), or taking it off. Not to mention the discomfort you could bring by giving it a twist.

Or...or...

*Daydreams happy naughty thoughts*

Yeah. Hot. :D

[identity profile] screwthedaisies.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a very nice looking brace, too, which contributes....

[identity profile] kraftpistole.livejournal.com 2006-04-21 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know why injuries and casts and braces and amputations are hot.

Neither do I.

[thinks fondly on his own amputated-limb-owning drummer inspiration]

You guys are SO weird. *goes back to daydreaming about Henjo with the arm cast* ;)

When...you...get...EEEEEEE H WRITING RAY. *orgasm*

[identity profile] madandy.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
~mops up after Lia~

Hahahahaha. You have *NO* idea....

*Grin*

*swat* ANDREA!

Thee hee hee.

*Snickers*

*Wipes chin*

HA.

[identity profile] screwthedaisies.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
My Kai/Marcus fic needs a kick in the butt. Perhaps it's a good time to have you and/or Andy look it over and let me know if I did anything moronic/totally OOC with Kai...and by the time you're done with it, I should be done with the latest rash of Rockfic Press duties and ready to tackle writing again. What do you think?

[identity profile] madandy.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
...I think my inbox is always open, chief!

[identity profile] silicondreams.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
...As long as you have lots of spare mops, boss, I can't fucking wait to see it!

[identity profile] madandy.livejournal.com 2006-04-22 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
And now I need moooooooooooooooooooooooooore!

[identity profile] screwthedaisies.livejournal.com 2006-04-22 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
*feels warm and fuzzy now*

I was out last night, out this morning and much of the afternoon, and in ten minutes I have to leave to be out for the evening again. But tomorrow I would like nothing better to hide with my laptop in the closet and get some more of this story finished.

[identity profile] bella-cheval.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey! You be back!! Sorry to hear you've on those shifts from hell, though. Here, have some organic chocolate with caramel inside and tea.

The knee brace is sexy...cause it's just sexy. *grins*

Maybe it's the thought that he'll need help and that provides so many opportunities for so many things.

*eyes bunny*

Shit.

There you have a slight idea about The Brats Next Door. Only, they don't chant words, it's an inarticulate brawling rather. In a tiled foyer with excellent acustics. Go figure.

First: Welcome home. :)

If your cat should catch a baby rabbit straight out of the stop, LET IT FINISH THE JOB. By 'rescuing' it you are subjecting the rabbit (and those unfortunate enough to try and save the wretched thing) to a lot of stress.

I saw a car hit a bird once. I guess the bird had a damaged wing, 'cause it was just sort of flopping about the road. [sigh] I saw it in the middle of the road, and the car that hit it without even attempting to swerve [and it had plenty of road to do so]. I felt so badly that--in total disreguard of proper hygene, I know--I parked, picked up the now dying bird and carried it over to a nearby tree. Laid it down, drove off. Mm. It's stupid, I guess... but I knew nothing could save it and I didn't want any cars flattening its corpse. I prefered that ants eat it. Which was hard to stomach, but better than the bird becoming a pile of putrid feathers for weeks on end [the bastards who clean roads don't pick up roadkill; it rots to the point of looking like a pile of dried leather and scattered bones].

It gets to me. And I'm in a kinda shitty emotional mood right now [PMS and alla that crap], so I guess that's why this is working so much on me, but, yeah.

Anyway.

Huzzah for no Slay.

[identity profile] madandy.livejournal.com 2006-04-22 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Honestly? Putting that bird on the side of the road was the kindest thing you could have done. Even if it seems horrid.

It's not called nature red in tooth and claw for nothing...and yes, nature includes cars. Sadly.
