We have a new floor. And it's awfully spiffy. Now all I have to do is spend the next two days getting the last of the wallpaper off and painting the fucking walls so that they're spiffy and nice too. Nuts!

arrys_girlie this morning. The thing was, despite all the activity over the weekend I couldn't sleep; I looked over some submissions for Devil's Work, exchanged a few e-mails with rockfic, and chatted to arrys_girlie via Yahoo. Then I thought I'd surprise her, so when I went downstairs I tried to give her a ring.
The person I got through to, whilst being undoubtedly American, didn't seem to know who I was asking for...
I begged off, claiming a wrong number, and curled up in a ball on the floor in almost terminal embarrassment.
Anyway, back on YIM and I told of my woes, only to be met with hoots of laughter - turns out it wasarrys_girlie's aunt who'd answered the phone - and she was so confused by the accent she had no bloody idea who the hell I was asking for. Thus reassured, I tried again and we had a lovely chat - that is, until Slay came down at half five...
So then I was in the shit for calling the States direct instead of using the puter, or waiting a few days and signing up for some bumfuck phone service - blah blah blah. I think he just hated to hear me laughing with somebody.
Anyway, dog spent the day in kennels - he was so pleased to be there he dragged me out of the car without leaving me time to shut the fucking door - so that he wasn't underfoot while the fitters were here.
Me, I slept.
And now I'm awake, and chatting tosilicondreams on YIM, and waiting for Slay to get home and I'd like to say it's all been worth it but it hasn't. *Sigh*

What colour are we talking here? Dark red? Maybe a dark green...? No? Black? Dark grey? You know, to give it a nice cave feel. [grin] I'd go with a dark red, really. Looks both spiffy and vaguely decadent. We can have a contest: Who paints his/her wall first.
